Day 3: Madrid day
Today was a day to get to know the city of Madrid. But we must admit that we got to know it in a very peculiar way: through a game.
But, step by step. We began to think that the day would be peculiar when we received as a gift some backpacks with the logo of the exchange in which we placed a bottle with water, juice, a fruit and a sandwich (which the Spanish team insists on calling "bocata"). We were ready for the adventure.
We visited places in the city of Madrid such as the Neptune and Cibeles fountains, Puerta del Sol, the City Hall, Puerta de Alcalá, Plaza Mayor and El Retiro park. But above all, we met its people and even talked to them.
During the game, in which we had to move around the places we had already mentioned, we had to fulfill a series of tests that went from taking a photo of us imitating a statue to having a neighbor from Madrid taste a carol with us. Of course, laughter was guaranteed.
In addition, we talked with the people of Madrid about their opinions on immigration and the situation of refugees. It would be a lie to say that everyone showed solidarity with the problem, but we noticed that the arguments against accepting refugees are based on misinformation and hoaxes about the subject.
Madrid is a supportive and welcoming city, but like many European capitals, it needs to do much more and show more forcefulness on the issue of refugee women.
Our photos here.-
