After breakfast we got on the bus and headed north to visit the city of Segovia, where we would carry out our outreach campaign. During the trip we enjoyed a fantastic landscape as well as taking the opportunity to continue meeting our new friends of other nationalities.
When we arrived we were dazzled by the view of the Roman aqueduct of the city. Despite the fact that it was a cold day, the sun was magnificent and there were many people on the streets among neighbors and tourists. Taking advantage of the public present, we dedicated the rest of the morning to our campaign, handing out leaflets, talking to the people who stopped to listen to us and were delighted to hear their views on the subject. In addition, we showed our beautiful banner.
We were left with the feeling that most people show empathy towards the plight of refugees and migrants but that many times they do not know very well how to help and also admitted to having been misled by the false news about the issue. Some of us commented on the differences in the way we sometimes treat tourists and how we treat refugees and migrants. It was great to be able to talk to all of them.
In the afternoon we visited the city of Segovia and were able to enjoy its narrow streets, its landscapes, the imposing cathedral and the Alcazar. It was magnificent.
In the evening, our Portuguese friends invited us to get to know their country, their food (especially "queimada") and their music.
