"Fronteras" (Borders in english) is a section of the spanish digital newspaper eldiario.es which is exclusively dedicated to following the refugee and migration crisis in Spain from a critical journalistic point of view.
"Migration is a great global phenomenon that goes beyond humanitarian refugee crises: it has demographic, economic, political, geopolitical and cultural implications. The management of borders gives rise to a debate that does not admit of easy answers and is putting Europe's political essence to the test. It is one of the most decisive issues of our generation. In the face of the rise of xenophobia, a journalism with a human rights approach and demanding of institutions", reads its headline as a manifesto.
Efforts such as these are necessary in a Europe where xenophobia and fake news against refugees and immigrants are commonplace.
